Sherman is a 2 1/2 yr old male Lab/pit/mastiff mix, he is up to date on all his basic shots including his rabies. He is not fixed. He is crate trained and good with other dogs and adores kids of all ages. He is an amazing dog and if we could afford 4 big dogs we would keep him. Now for his back story, he was my mother's dog but due to her actions she is incarcerated, and Sherman was at the Onslow County shelter before I was able to work with them and the county sheriff in order to get him released to me instead of continuing to be stuck, scared, cold, and unloved. He has only known my mom and our family since he was a pup and I couldn't take a chance of him not finding a loving home and be at risk of being put down at the shelter. He's been out for almost two weeks and during that time we have been working with him to make sure he was well readjusted back to family life after his long stay at the shelter. The said he was showing fear aggression and that his chances were slim, that is something he has not shown here except for the first time meeting our dogs I had him in the crate so mine wouldn't bombard him and he growled which as soon as I let him out there was no issues with him meeting them on his terms. I assume he felt like he was trapped. We have been working with him with leash walking to get him to ease up on the pulling but other than wanting to sniff everything in sight he's a great dog! About a year ago he was hit by a car and his front right leg was broke in a odd place so he is flat footed on that one paw but it doesn't affect his drive or activity! I have access to his vet records as well which is through Academy in Jacksonville. I want him to go to a forever home, so with that being said, I am going to be very picky about who Sherman's new family is, and I will be asking for a 50 rehome fee to ensure he goes to a good home, I would also like a contract in place that if for whatever reason it doesn't work out or anything that he be returned, I don't want him to go back to a shelter or be dumped! The rehoming fee is slightly negotiable for the perfect family. Please message me for anymore information or questions you may have. Thank you!
