About Maggie May

Maggie May is a 9 week old Australian Shepherd mix who was left in a box at a food bank in Tuba City when they were only around 2 weeks old. The wonderful nuns there made sure to reach out to the Tuba City Humane Society who in turn reached out to us at AZSDR to see if we had a bottle feeding foster available. We did and she went to meet them in Flagstaff to pick up. (It truly takes a rescue village many times!) Maggie May is the only girl from this group, but she is no shy wallflower. This girl holds her own, and can be dominant over two of her milder brothers. Her ideal home will have pet parents who are familiar with big breeds and committed to training. She is an extremely smart girl and learned the doggie door at a very young age. She is kennel trained in the sense that she does not potty when in a kennel, but she HATES to be kenneled and will not take it quietly except for at night when she sleeps. She is playful and energetic and loves to be outdoors. For this reason no apartments, please. Her adoption fee is $350 which includes a free vet visit and 30 days of free pet insurance.
