About Shiloh

Cavalier / Cairn
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Shiloh is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with his stunning tricolor coat with the touches of beige and black running through the purest of white. Shiloh also has the cuteest Terrier face with his flyaway ears that can't help but make you smile...you just want to hug this little cutie-pie close. Shiloh is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a happy and well-behaved pup (once comfortable) who enjoys his human and doggie friends with all his heart. At this early point in Shiloh's development, he loves everyone. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Shiloh to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We feel very strongly that Shiloh should attend positive reinforcement group obedience group classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. (Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area). We also feel Shiloh would be a great match with a family with dog-loving older kids, a like-sized canine companion,a fenced yard, and nurturing adults who would love to have a fuzzy best friend be an important part of their lives. Right now, Shiloh is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Shiloh is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks or hikes, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Shiloh is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed. Shiloh's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He requires behavioral guidance and tons of love to give him the tools to negotiate the world in a positive way and therefore being the best companion he can be. We'd love a family for Shiloh that spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy best friend in their activities. Shiloh can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community. He can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere with the assurance that he'll be a very social and pleasant guy. Shiloh will be arriving in Denver unfixed. While we request his neuter, there are far too few vets in this industrial area of New Mexico to get an appointment in a timely way. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Shiloh's neuter and microchip after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Shiloh will require a commitment to periodic grooming. Lots of sudsy baths and serious brushing combined with great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be great!) will keep this guy's coat healthy, silky-soft and matt-free. Shiloh will be arriving on transport in Denver in late January (we'll confirm the date as soon as it's finalized). Applications are currently being accepted for this extremely sweet and cuddly best friend (and amazing lap dog). An application can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Shiloh, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
