About Blue and gold macaw

Jose is a Blue and Gold Macaw, male, born in 1997. His owner had some huge life changes that just overwhelmed her. Jose was a very tame bird at one point, but he is a little hormonal now and needs someone with big bird experience to help him. Our birds are not available for breeding and we do not ship birds, so you must travel to our south Kansas City area facility. Potential adopters must call 816-356-4700 for an appointment, and must fill out an adoption application and pass a screening interview to ensure that our birds are going to a safe home. There is usually a 48 hour waiting period after your interview before you are allowed to adopt because we want people to take time and think thru their decision. Adoption fee for this bird is $500
