This cool dude is The Duke of Earl, or Duke for short. He is a one year old Kelpie mix who is a dream of a dog. He weighs about 38 pounds. Duke is a smart guy. He hasn't been with us long but already goes potty on command. He also learned sit immediately. Plus, he is a gentle boy when taking treats. Duke has shown us that he is house trained. He is also crate trained but sleeping without the crate door closed at his foster home, without incident. Duke is good with men, women, and kids. He is still a pup, so kids who run and spin and generally play loudly will excite him. He could knock over the little ones, so a home with kids older than toddlers is best. Duke is good with dogs, large and small. He is willing to be the second dog and follow someone else's lead. A home with another dog may help him as he likes the company. He loves to play with other dogs. Plus, he is good with cats! The Duke of Earl will be a wonderful activity companion. He is good on leash and can learn not to pull. He loves to go for walks. In the car, he sits politely. He's extremely loving, gentle, and happy. For being a young dog, he has tons of potential. He'll make an awesome dog for the right adopter and would do great hiking, running alongside a bike, going to the dog beach, or just curled up on the couch for some TV. :) The Duke of Earl is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is ready to meet potential adopters who can meet and adopt in SoCal. A home visit and vet reference are required.
