About Sammy

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Very large neutered male. Appears to be purebred Maine Coon. He belongs to my stepfather who is terminally ill and completely incapacitated. He was friendly with my stepfather and liked to be brushed and sit on his lap but kept to himself around other people. He got along okay with the dog. I cannot take him as I have pets of my own and we have been maintaining my stepfather's home primarily to give Sammy shelter. Sammy is currently living there alone and we make a 3 hour round trip drive every week to make sure his auto-feeder/water or full and operating and to clean out his litter box. We need to sell or rent out the house though so we really need to find Sammy a rescue group who can find the right adopter who will be patient and let Sammy warm up to them. I am willing to transport him anywhere within the state of Texas and most areas of the United States. I don't want to have him put down as my stepfather loved him.
