About Griffin

We adopted Griffin from Dakin in Feb. 2017 when he was about 10 weeks old. We have 3 teenagers who loved him up immediately. He is very loving and easy to pet, sits near people or on laps just fine. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, will run around with other dogs and come back to us, as well as on long walks, but we don't just open the door and let him out, expecting that he'll always come back because he's still a puppy and gets distracted by neighbors and other dogs.He was crate trained for most of his life, but has recently moved to sleeping on the bed.He loves to be covered by a blanket and snuggle in. Over the last 6 months, Griffin has gotten increasingly aggressive, mostly when he's settled in a lap and someone else comes over to pet him. He has gone from a warning growl to full teeth and sometimes lashing out unexpectedly. He shows distinct dislike more toward our son, whose low voice and rough petting is distinguishable from the rest of the females. We don't believe that he was abused, and we are not hurting him. We feel that he would be better suited to be with a couple without kids who has either a large fenced-in yard, or a farm situation. We also believe that having another dog, if it's a good tempered Alpha who will put him in his place, would be an ideal situation. Cats are also good for him to play with and can likely help this situation a lot, but we have allergies in our house to cats. Griffin is a sweet boy. He loves attention, long walks, fast runs and to be active! We do not want to see him leave, but we want the best for him and can no longer trust him around kids.
