About Treble

Treble is a 2 year old male, Australian Shepherd/springer spaniel mix. Although he's still underweight, he's eating like a champ and he's big in stature. He's around 50 pounds now and could stand to gain another 15-20 to really fill out his frame. Treble has greatly benefited from having Beau around, our 10 year old chocolate lab. They were instantly friendly with each other, and Treble gained a sense of safety and comfort from Beau. He has been fine with our two children, but sometimes he shies away from their loud/busy actions. He also was not bothered by having a cat around. He likes a calm, quiet environment, but he also loved bounding around in the fresh snow! He is great walking on a leash. He sometimes resists being approached to be leashed, but as soon as he is leashed, he is completely submissive and calm. He is sometimes hesitant to come back inside after being let out. He has chewed through a few leashes/ropes while tied up outside, but does well with a fenced in area. He sleeps in his crate and would greatly benefit from having something rugged to chew on during his stretches of boredom while alone. He is up to date with his vaccinations and is currently on heartgard and nexgard monthly. He has been eating roughly 4 cups of food a day, with many treats as well. Although he is being fed a lot, he will still help himself to something tasty that has been left unattended. Treble is a beautiful dog, who could make a great companion. I believe he would do well somewhere with lots of acreage, or a large fenced in yard. A calm, not too rowdy setting with another dog to befriend would be ideal. A family who is willing to take the time to be patient with Treble, and allow him to become comfortable at his own pace and eventually open up socially. He is a good boy and deserves a good, loving home.
