Two or three years ago my fiance and I brought a small white dog home from the humane society that was skin and bones. But despite her condition and the unknown horrors and struggles she suffered, she was the sweetest and most loving dog I'd ever met. We named her Dot, short for Dorothy, after my great grandmother. Since we adopted her she's got meat on her bones and is happy, but she could be happier. Our apartment is small and on the third floor of the building; we don't know Dot's exact age, but we know she's at least middle aged. Despite that she's very energetic and likes to play and run-- she would be so much happier in a nice house with a yard. We often struggle financially and so we're unable to get her to the groomer regularly, more like once every couple of months. We can't afford to take her to the vet regularly, and as she gets older she will need to be seeing the vet more. She needs significant work done on her teeth that we don't have the money for. She is up to date on all her shots, very affectionate, and super intelligent. She will sit when you tell her to sit, and knows 'get in the bed' if you point to her dog bed. We have an eight year old who she is very good with, and she has been around other dogs and a cat before-- she's extremely friendly and well-mannered, so a home with children and/or other pets can be considered. We love her so much and she is the best dog we could ever ask for, but I would rather part with her knowing she's getting the best care she can get than cling to her and struggle the way we do. If you are interested in meeting Dot and potentially bringing her home, please contact me so we can make arrangements to meet. I ask that we meet in person at least once and talk so I know who I'm giving my companion to! I am asking for an adoption fee of 50$ so I know you're serious about her; this includes her bed, dishes, food, leash, harness/collar, and her sweaters.
