Our sweet and beautiful Luna couldn't be more loving no matter how hard she tries. Luna is a 2 or so year old, 7 pound Shih Tzu/Cairn Terrier mix (it's almost impossible to get a sweeter lap dog and best friend) that is just waiting to be the love of someone's life. Both Shih Tzus and Cairn Terriers have grown in popularity tremendously over the past few years. It makes perfect sense in that they're known for their great temperaments, super intelligence and loyalty...and so important...a deep love for their families. Farfel's rescues almost every Shih Tzu and Terrier mix that passes our temperament testing and is in need of our help... with the confidence they will have great energy and be excellent family members. Luna has all these wonderful traits and was described by her New Mexico foster mom as PERFECTLY WONDERFUL! Luna has had a challenging period of time but is now safe and sound'|never to be cold or hungry again. But with it all'|she doesn't hold a grudge and desires only to be the best companion possible. Since Luna is a young girl, she's a blank slate'|open to all possibilities if treated kindly and with respect. Group training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would truly serve both Luna and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have Luna be a companion that is well-behaved in every situation. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. Luna (while initially shy) tends to be a loving and sensitive girl who loves life and responds so well to nurturing and time spent together (hugs and kisses are absolutely awesome)... and of course some great treats are always a wonderful option. Luna gets very attached to those she loves and before you know it, is on her way to her favorite people for belly rubs and and a big hug. Luna loves to come along ..be it to a dog-friendly workplace, a walk along a Colorado path, a vacation or just socializing'|Luna would love to be there as Companion #1. She has such a pleasant personality and is low-maintenance enough to fit in just about anywhere . We envision Luna in a home that will provide her with exercise and mental stimulation. Luna wouldn't be happy spending long hours alone'|she is far too people-oriented to be happy with that. A retiree or a person who works either part-time or from home would be great. Luna would love the companionship and consistency of those relationships. Being a young dog, she'd also learn that she's loved and cared for. This is a lesson that results in a happy and confident adult dog. We've requested that Luna be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado. We're hoping that this will occur. If it doesn't.. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Luna's spay and microchip if our Denver vet is used. Luna will be arriving on transport in Denver in early January...we'll update the exact day when information is finalized. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and devoted best friend and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested, please fill out and return to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE - If you're truly interested in adopting Luna, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving girl. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
