Adoption Fee: $295
Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Blitzen Blue Heeler Mix Currently 8 weeks old Blitzen is a fun, chunky little puppy. He is about 10 lbs and will probably mature to a medium size about 30/40 lbs. Blitzen was brought to the rescue a couple weeks ago along with his 4 other siblings, but parted ways with some of his siblings to go to his foster with his 2 sisters. He is currently working on house training and doing really well for his age. He understands the concept of going potty outside and will go everytime he's out, but he is still learning how to show when he needs to go out so he still has a few accidents in the house. He has been sleeping in kennel at night with his sisters and has not had a single accident in the crate and is quiet all through the night. He loves people especially kids and is good about not jumping on them. He's pretty good about only only chewing on the dog toys, but is a puppy and still needs to be taught what is a dog toy and what isn't. Blitzen gets along great with other dogs, and especially loves big dogs. He is good with all other animals, from horses to cats and is not at all interested in playing with them unlike his sisters. He is a very social pup, but will stick around even in an unfenced yard. His sisters are on opposite sides of the spectrum as one is lazy and cuddly and the other is crazy fun, but he is a good in between, Blitzen loves to cuddle but loves the 2 mile walks he takes with his foster every day even more. This fun pup would be a great addition any family looking for a fun puppy. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email [email protected] for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
