This adorable fuzzy face is McGee! A recent arrival at Dog Town Rescue, McGee seems to have been shuffled around a bit lately. He was found as a stray after almost being hit by a car. They were able to find his former owner, but he was given away to someone else and then we don't really know what happened. Sadly his original family was not able to take him back as they have moved out of the area. We were told he is a corgi/lab mix, although based only on looks that sounds a bit off. If we had to describe him he sort of looks like an oversized cockapoo with an extra long body and short stubby legs. Of course we would also use lots of words like adorable, ridiculous and cute, because he sure is all of those things. At a little under 2 years old McGee is also a fun, playful dude. He is definitely more comfortable with women than men, but if he barks at and is unsure of a new person if they totally ignore him and let him approach them in his own time and go slow he is sure to be your new friend in no time. Once he knows you he is excited to see you and does an adorable hop/dance on his short back legs to get your attention and let you know how happy he is to see you. He willingly gives kisses and looks like he is permanently smiling. He is playful and tolerant with most other dogs and just an all around great dog. A true gentleman, McGee keeps his kennel clean and appears to understand the basics of housebreaking, although we would expect like most dogs he may have some accidents as he transitions to a new home and routine. McGee would do best in a home with a patient family that understands he may need a little time to settle in and teach him the appropriate way to great new people and that strangers don't have to be scary. McGee is neutered, microchipped and up to date on basic vet care like vaccines flea/tick preventative and heartworm tested negative.
