About Mick

Mick is 6 years old and has always been a special needs dog since the day we brought him home when he was 5 weeks old. He has always been misunderstood by most people because he is very fearful and anxious about everything and everyone. He has never been abused and to our understanding, because of his mix, he unfortunately was born with the least desirable traits between a dachshund and a Labrador retriever. Mick's temperament can be described as always being at a 9 out of 10 and it takes very little to send him to an 11. He has never bitten anyone but he is not good around strangers and especially children and other animals. When it is just Mick and the people he knows he is an amazing dog; he's a huge cuddle bug and will want to kiss you and love you. It has been a heart wrenching and emotionally difficult process to even consider rehoming him to someone outside of family and friends but unfortunately no one we know can handle him. We had our first baby this past year and it has been an impossible situation to all live together under the same roof.
