Holly is a little Yorkie mix, who is estimated to be 7 - 8 years old. She weighs 7.3 pounds. Holly is being fostered in Leesburg, FL. Holly would like a home for the holidays. UPDATED BIO 12/16/2017: Holly would like to tell you a little bit about herself'|. Hello, my name is Holly. My foster mom thought that would be a great name for a little girl who needs a home for the holidays. I have nothing but good news to share. First, I am not in the shelter anymore. I am now in a nice home with some other dogs. I have a nice soft doggie bed and plenty of good food to eat. No cold hard cement floor for me anymore. The nice doctor said I am not 10 years old (which the shelter estimated me to be); I am only maybe 7 or 8 years old. I am very healthy, my heart and lungs are perfect, and not one thing is wrong with me. A very nice vet person shaved off all my stinky matted hair. There were so many mats and tangles no one could brush it out. And I know I smelled really bad too, so now I smell better and my foster mommy said when my hair grows back in, I will be beautiful once again. That awful growth that was over my eyelid didn't affect my eye or vision at all and now it's gone. The doctor took it off and put in a few stitches. Soon it will heal and you'll never know it was there. They told my foster mom it was a benign growth, and in no time it will be healed up and I will be perfect once again. I had my teeth cleaned and my breath is so nice and fresh and my teeth are shiny white. Also, I had this thing called a spay, so that I will never have puppies again. During the spay the doctor found a little thing called a mammary tumor and now that is gone, too. My stitches will be out on the 18th and then I will be ready for my forever home. Just in time for the HOLLYdays. My foster mom and dad said I am a little spitfire of energy and fun. But I can be nice and calm and restful, too. I love to cuddle up beside my foster mom or dad and snuggle with them. I am so happy they let me sleep on the bed with them. It is so nice and comfy with us all together. I am really a great little pup. I ride really well in the car. But '| I pull a lot on the leash, so I am not so good at leash walking - yet. My foster mom said I really need a fenced yard, because walking me every day would be really hard until I can learn to walk nicely on a leash, but I am not quite there yet. I'm a good eater and also a good sleeper. I am not totally house-trained, but I am almost there. My mom would be happier if I did all my business outside - I am trying and soon I will know exactly what is expected of me with the 'potty business'. I like other dogs, but I don't really play with them. I do like doggie toys and I like to play with them. I think I would okay being an only dog - you know, getting all the attention, but one other dog might be okay. I might even try to play. I am still working on that and figuring it out. There is one more thing about me that I have to admit to. I have a loud, kind of high-pitched bark sometimes. Most of the time I am very quiet and hardly ever bark, and when I do it's a nice regular doggie bark. Then when my foster mom and dad leave, I have the squealing bark telling them I want them to stay. I stop pretty quickly, but it may be a little loud for a while. I guess I don't like to be without my people. I bark at the cats that sometimes come over to our driveway to visit. I can't get to them, but I would sure like to. Soooo, my foster parents think I shouldn't be in a home with kitty cats. I also love to run to the big tree in the backyard to see if I can get one of squirrels that hang around in that tree. No luck there either. If my foster mom or dad tells me to stop barking, I listen and stop right away. I am a happy, active girl who likes to run around, play with toys, be cuddled, and be near my foster mom and dad, but still have a few things to learn. I don't think I would be right for condo or apartment living. I really want a nice backyard and I don't want to get in trouble, or get my new mommy and daddy in trouble, if a neighbor hears me bark. There is so much about me to like that I know you would want me to be your best holiday present ever. Whatever holiday you celebrate, I can celebrate with you and be your very special gift. And one more thing, if you would like to contribute a little to help the wonderful people at United Yorkie Rescue who got me out of that awful shelter and paid for all my care, we would all very, very grateful. Happy Holidays, Everyone! Please remember me, and give me, Holly, a home for the HOLLYdays. I will love you forever and ever and ever '|'|
