About RANDY

Randy is 12 pounds and will be 12 years old in March 2018. He was surrendered to us when his owners were unable to treat his current allergy outbreak at the beginning of November. Randy is a lover, so please don't judge him by the scars on his skin. He had not been provided with the food or medication to prevent his environmental allergies, which had been recommended by his veterinarian. His skin and ears have been very responsive to medications when he has a flare up. Randy needs to find a special home that will be willing to provide him with the care he needs. Randy is currently eating a prescription diet for his allergies and has been treated for his skin and ear infection. His skin and ears have responded well, and he has received a Cytopoint injection, as a preventative for his allergies, which are most likely to blame for both the skin and ear infections Randy had when he came to us. He had full senior labs, including chemistry, CBC, SDMA, thyroid, and a urinalysis, in November 2017, which looked great. His heartworm and tick borne disease panel was negative in April 2017 and he has been on Interceptor Plus. Randy will also be receiving a dental procedure before going to his forever home. Randy has loved getting to go home with staff members when he can. He has gotten along with both small and large dogs, and cats. We do not know if Randy has any experience with children, but he is likely to snap at someone when they do something he doesn't like, so we recommend a home without children. He has been known to be possessive and protective over his food and toys. He also doesn't like his feet messed with occasionally.
