Hi, my name is Checkers. I am a 4 year old Shih Tzu Schnauzer mix boy. I weight in at a perfect dozen (12) pounds. I was found wondering the streets in Lancaster and got picked up by the Animal control. I did not understand why my family did not come looking for me. But nothing phases me. I am a happy-go-lucky type of guy, My foster Mom says she cannot ask for a better dog! I am potty trained to go outside. I am a mellow-chill kind of guy that is not hyper. I am a quite guy that minds his own business, I do not like to bark. I am a fairly independent dude-even thought I like to follow my Mom around all the time. Night time finds me sleeping in my crate, I love going for walks and being outside catching the sun rays. I get along with other dogs. I am always game for a little belly rub and some tasty treats. I have had all my shots, am neutered and am even micro-chipped. I am all set and ready to find my own family. To top all this I have the coat of a Schnauzer and do not shed.
