We rescued Marlie and Freya just over a week ago from a very rural animal control. This facility did not have the funding to care for multiple animals for more than a few days and we could not bear to leave and let them be euthanized. Since coming home with us, they have received their first round of vaccines, have been treated for fleas, and have been treated for worms. We had them both combo tested, and both came back negative. They are scheduled to be spayed and have their second round of vaccines in 2 weeks. So far, they have not defecated or urinated outside of the litter box! They are curious about our female adult cat, though she does not want anything to do with them. We do not have a male cat, but have no reason to think they won't do well with one. We have both male and female dogs and they have been exposed to all of them and while they run under the kitchen table to feel protected, I can completely understand as one of our dogs is a Great Dane - he's just a tad bit larger than them. The great part is that they do not hiss or act out whenever he comes by; this leads me to think that will a little time and the right introductions, they will get along just fine with dogs. As far as we and the vet can tell, they seem to be about 16/17 weeks old. They both have great personalities and will be great cats. Marlie is the cuddle bug - she will start audibly purring as soon as you look at her. Freya takes a moment to warm up to you, but will let you pick her up and pet her. She seems to prefer my boyfriend, so she may have a preference to males. We were hoping to keep these two cuties, but it does not look as if it is going to work out. Our current cat is not a huge fan of them, and we want to do what is best for everyone. The adoption fee for both is $250 to try to help offset the cost of these two. It does not cover everything, but it is worth taking the loss to see these two babies go to their furever home. Please contact me with any questions you have or if you want to meet them!
