About Gizmo

LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Gizmo is a very happy and sweet special needs boy. He is a chiweenie and weighs about 8 pounds. The vet believes he is 3 years old. He was found as a stray and was almost hit by a car. When we got him we discovered a few things about him. He is very active and has a hard time relaxing. He has a severe overbite. The vet says it is classed as a birth defect. He can eat but it just is a little more of a struggle to grab the food. He also has some strangeness with his back legs. Sometimes they seem wobbly. The vet thinks that is a short in his brain that causes that once in awhile. He also circles to the right when he is anxious or stressed. This is a neurological issue. She says that he was probably born this way. He is happy and well adjusted but just a little odd. We will call that special! His foster mom thinks he is very special! He should not go to a home with small children even though he loves kids because we know of his problems. He also cannot go to a home with a pool or lots of stairs as we know the day may come when he struggles with stairs. He is healthy...but he is heartworm positive. He is starting his treatment now and our rescue will provide the medication he needs until he is heartworm negative. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. Now all he needs is someone to love him and give him a home that he deserves. Is that you?
