Meet Jack Sprat, lover of all things peanut butter. Jack is approximately 4 years old, heartworm negative, and some kind of pointer/hound mix with a head that seems too large for his body. Jack knows 'SIT', takes treats very gently, enjoys running and can sustain a good pace for 4-5 miles. Jack seems to have had a rough life and it has resulted in a few behavior issues that include initial stranger danger (although once peanut butter treats come out, he is no longer growly), not liking other male dogs, and being afraid of a number of odd things including traffic cones (I found this out on a run with him. He got down and sulked stealthily as we went by the cone.) Jack would do best with an experienced dog handler who can provide stability, exercise, and patience as he learns to trust again. I don't know how he is around cats. He does seem to get along with female dogs. Despite his issues, he is a goofy, houndy, doggie's dog, who curls up into a tiny package when he is tired, and is full of funny expressions that would make anyone laugh.
