About Rocket

This is Rocket (Border Collie) He was 6 years old 8-14-17, and we've had him since he was almost 9 months old. He is incredibly smart, high energy, has a happy, funny yet quirky personality. He is an excellent house dog, crate trained, but we've never needed to use the crate. He wants to please, loves to play ball outside and plays hide and seek inside with his toys. He prefers people, but unfortunately has a dark side that comes out unexpectedly around strangers. He tolerates, though not well, other dogs, and will always be the Alpha in both situations if allowed. He is very healthy, current on all his shots, on monthly heart-worm and flea prevention and sees the vet yearly for his physical and to have his teeth cleaned. He sees the groomer approx. every 6 weeks with a weekly bath and daily brushing in between. During the summer months, I keep him clipped short. He eats dry food- Nutro Brown Rice and Lamb. He requires personal interaction and needs to be with a physically active, dog confident owner with no small/young children. I'm brokenhearted, but it is not an option for him to stay with us any longer, so I'm in search of a new home for him.
