*wags & paws courtesy post for Abandoned Me* Do you have a soft spot for old men? Meet Pepper, a sweet 9 year old senior. He's a lab-mix who weighs approximately 55 pounds. Before his rescue stepped in, he had a tough life. His scars - and one of his ears- show that. Don't be fooled though- this is one sweet old man! He is house trained and walks well on a leash. He's fine being left out to roam when his foster leaves the home, and he gets along with his foster's smaller dog and two cats. Like most older men, he growls every once in a while when his foster brother tries to take his rawhide bones. It's like the sound my grandpa makes if I were to go near his baked potato at early bird special. You know that big pill box Grandpa has? Luckily, Pepper doesn't doesn't need that many- just 1/2 a tab of prednisone before bed. Speaking of beds, he would love to share yours with you. If not, he likes a comfy spot in the closet. He has also been residing with an 18 month old in his foster home. He enjoys finishing off his Greek yogurts and apple pieces. A quote from his foster: 'He is super easy to correct and will leave anything alone when told to. He is not really trained to do any tricks, but will come when called. If told to move or something that he does want to do, he becomes deaf and gravity increases around him. He is very attached to me, and prefers to be with me rather than with the rest of the family.
