Babs is a sweet, 2 YO, 40 lb dog who came to PAWS as one of 12 dogs from an older owner who was no longer able to care for her. It seems she was bullied by the other dogs so she hangs back from people and other animals until she gets to know them. She's an inside/outside dog who wants to please, but is a bit nervous right now. She'll come to you, but is cautious. Once she knows you're going to be good to her, she just melts. She has had no previous training, but is doing wonderfully in foster care with leash training on a harness. As far as house training, Babs will need to be given plenty of opportunities to potty outside in the beginning until she learns the routine of her new family. We recommend Babs go to a home that's more quiet and calm with older children. She needs someone or a family who can help build up her confidence with gentle care. She doesn't like yelling, rambunctious activity, or loud noises and will cower until you reassure her everything is OK. With a little encouragement, continued training, and lots of love, Babs will blossom into an even more wonderful dog than she is now.
