About Joni

Hi, everyone! My name is Joni, and my dad says I was named for Joan of Arc, because we were both strong and brave girls! I am a spayed, 15-year-old, short hair, tortoise cat, with black, tan, and white accents��%BD'��%BD|and I also have white feet. Everyone comments on how pretty I am! I was rescued by my prior family as a very young and sickly stray kitty, who showed up on their porch about 7 ��%BD%BD years ago on a very cold Easter morning. They took me in and helped me become a healthy, happy girl! I have just arrived at the Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center because my dad has gotten very sick over these past few weeks. When dad was well, I liked being outside in our yard during the day and playing with the neighborhood children but always came in at night to sleep with him. But with so many nurses coming to our home lately to take care of my dad, I was too worried to come inside so I have been staying outside full time. I learned that 'it's a jungle out there,' especially when raccoons came during the night to steal my cat kibble! And it was lonely, since I am very affectionate, love being petted, brushed, and sitting in a warm lap, and having my family's company. The Safe Place for Pets Welcome Center is quite nice and I know I will be warm, safe, and well-fed while I am here. And the caring volunteers will be giving me (and all the other cats living here) lots of love and attention, but I also know this is a temporary home until a new forever family decides I am the one!
