About Ginger

Adoption Fee: $275
Siberian Husky mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Fred and Ginger (Gigi) survived the hot summer streets of Phoenix together early%A0July 2017. Fred is a tan German Shepard that is estimated to be 7 years old. He is a very affectionate and mellow pup that enjoys sunbathing on grass or relaxing on his orthopedic bad%A0when he is not seeking love and attention.%A0 Ginger, a husky mix that is approximately 2 years old, is full of personality. She is energetic and enjoys playing with her toys and other pups. She also loves to give kisses to everyone!%A0 Both pups are potty trained and use a doggy door. They are fixed and up to date with all vaccinations, and have had physical exams including a blood test, a urine analysis, and tests for tick fever, valley fever, and heart worm. Both are microchipped. Fred has a medical condition called tendon contracture in one of his front legs %A0resulting from the%A0severe infection that he had when he was rescued. Although we were able to finally get a diagnosis and treat this severe infection, it is unknown at this point if the tendon contracture will resolve. With that said, it is possible that Fredy might have permanent limited use of the leg and will require ongoing exercises, heat, and massages to the area%A0to prevent the condition from worsening, and to remind him to use it as he prefers to hop around on three legs. He must also keep a healthy weight so that there is not added pressure to his front legs.%A0Fred's medical treatments are the primary reason why these doggies have been in foster care since July. However, they are amazing pups with wonderful personalities. Both doggies can be adopted together or separately. However, in order to adopt Gigi alone, %A0the adopter MUST have another young dog that is playful and energetic and engages in play with Gigi. Fred can be adopted with another older dog that also has a mellow personality or alone where the adopter can provide the attention and support that he needs. Fred is too interested in kitties and a home with cats is not recommended. A home visit will be required with a transition plan of about three visits to minimize their anxiety level. These%A0pups must be INSIDE dogs.%A0 If you interested in meeting Fred and/or Ginger, %A0please contact Diana at%A0(201) 926-3591.%A0
