About Shine

Shine is a tall, lean minpin/manchester terrier that came to us from a cruelty case, underweight and with a scar near his tail. He was named for the little flecks of silver spread out throughout his coat like glitter! and yes, his personality does shine. He flourishes with routine and is totally delighted to be with you, gazing adoringly into your eyes - no kidding! He wants to be front and center for your love! Shine is using our fenced dog yard for exercise and potty, he is quite energetic and likes to bound around. At this time he is afraid to leave the yard and doesn't follow on leash yet. He comes to me readily, will wait for me at the door on command, and wait for me to put the leash on as I bring him out of his kennel to the yard. He too doesn't know he's a little lanky for your lap, and tries to sneak up on it at any chance! He learns well with gentle repetitive correction and is treat motivated, but will back up and bark in fear if someone shouts at him. After some zoomies he's good next to you on a lawn swing or couch, soaking up reassurance and affection. Of the two brothers, Shine is more submissive. If you'd like to help Shine gain confidence (and some more weight!), he will return it ten-fold
