Chubba is a fairly young guy. His DOB is 2/13/17. He has been with us since June of 2017. He is a lab/dalmation mix. He lived a miserable six months here on this earth before coming to us and our goal to make the rest of his life a good one. He was 'dumped' way before he was old enough to care for himself. He ended up in an area that was filled with Porcupine and had the needles all over his body - especially his face. He had to be live trapped to get him. He was absolutely terrified and is still leary of humans but is coming around vey slowly. It took almost two months for his sores to heal and for him to 'tolerate' being touched - all physical wounds are healed and he is now coming to the gates looking for attention, he will go in and out voluntarily without being forced. He has a roommate and they get along great. Unfortunately he is still shy and after two years in the shelter that hasn't helped him very much. He can go no further than he currently is in the shelter and a home has to be found for him in order for him to grow any more confident and trusting of humans. There is absolutely no aggression in him - none - zero - nada!! He is housebroken. He requires a loving and PATIENT home. He is not a 'love you to death' type of dog. You will have to earn that love through lots and lots of patience. He does great with other dogs and is getting more and more curious about all of the attention they get. He would probably be best in a home with another dog to help him finish coming out of his shell (a non-aggressive dog of course). He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but as with any fearful dog - he could bite - so therefore no young children for this beautiful baby. If you think you have the patience and love for this young guy, please go to our website and complete an adoption application you will find that at www.patriotsforpets.com He is neutered, current on his shots, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. A fenced in yard will be necessary for him since he is too scared to walk on a leash.
