About Myrtle

Myrtle is a big teddy bear with a beautiful soul! She is a little shy at first, but once she realizes you just want to love on her, she is deeply affectionate and adorably lively. In Myrtle's world, 'sit' means 'give me a hug' and she is ever so happy to oblige! She is a bit overwhelmed by new situations - scary new things include carbonated water, the terrifying washer/dryer, and her own toots! She would love to have someone who could take things slow with her and teach her things all the wonderful things the world has to offer. This silly character is starting to come out of her shell and even come around to the human definition 'sit.' She loves to be with people and definitely thinks of herself as a lapdog... and it's hard to resist this total snugglebug's pouty lip and gummy smile! She adores kongs, benebones, and her favorite - stuffies! Myrtle is housebroken, crate-trained, and a quiet, low maintenance houseguest. When she arrived at the shelter, Myrtle tested positive for heartworm, a serious but treatable and non-contagious disease. She has completed her treatment and recovery in her loving foster home and is now healthy and ready to find her Furevers! 54 lbs. 5 years, 9 months.
