About Merlin

Some dogs need a little more work before they can become a good family member. Merlin is one of those dogs and he is so worth it! The shelter staff has been working with Merlin and they all agree how much they love him. He can still be shy with strangers but he has come a very long way from the insecure fellow he was when he first came to the shelter. The staff also describe Merlin as a big sweetheart and mush. Merlin is also very gentle and affectionate with people. He has been learning to walk on a leash and doing so much better. He loves to run in the play yard and has a favorite ball that is the only one he wants to play with. Merlin has been very well behaved and does not mind baths. He has also had a recent dental cleaning and did very well with the vet staff. Merlin has shown such vast improvement and we would love for him to have an owner willing to be patient and continue training with him to help him feel more secure. Merlin is very picky about his dog friends so an only dog home would suit him best. This gorgeous Golden Retriever mix boy is 7 years old and weighs about 60 pounds.
