Josephine is a 1.5 year old, Female, DMH Tuxedo Cat, DOB: 10/15/2015. Josephine has had a hard life, but she has come so far! She was abandoned as a young cat and had at least a couple litters of kittens outdoors in West Phoenix, having to fend not just for herself, but also keep her babies safe and hidden and fed. Josephine finally received the help she deserved on February 28th, the same day she was delivering her final litter of kittens. She has been a fantastic mother not only to her 3 kittens, but she keeps taking on more kittens! She is a very protective mother and makes sure the adolescent cat being fostered in the same home doesn't play too rough with any of the babies or that no dogs get too curious, even though they are all gentle and harmless. Josephine has been healthy and easy to live with. She's quiet and doesn't demand much. She's a little cautious if there's a noise she doesn't recognize or sudden movement, and she doesn't really like being picked up, but I pet her every day in different locations and she likes it and purrs. She has a variety of favorite napping spots, on the dresser or on the cat tree being a couple of her favorites so she can keep an eye on what's going on nearby. She has nurtured about 15 kittens in her short time in foster and watched many of them get adopted. Now it's Josephine's turn. She needs her own home where she will loved and be able to relax for the rest of her life with as much food as she wants and lots of safe, comfortable places to nap. CAN YOU HELP US???? R.A.I.N. Rescue is desperately seeking foster homes for SMALL dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. We currently need volunteers for these Departments: Foster Homes, Transporters, Groomer, Adoption Center, Donation Station and Fundraisers. FOSTERING: We take in small dogs, puppies, cats and kittens to foster. The fosters DO NOT pay out of pocket for expenses while fostering ANY animals in our Rescue. The Rescue pays for everything necessary. We also accommodate for time away. *Some of our best fosters have been the winter visitors, who may only be able to take in dogs for 3-4 months. TRANSPORTERS: A person designated to take the dogs and cats for their vetting (spay/neuter etc.), grooming and sometimes to pick up and drop off at adoption events when the fosters are unable to bring them. Transporters may also pick up new strays/owner surrenders etc. and take them to their foster home. This position will pay mileage. FUNDRAISERS: Anything to help bring in funds to our non-profit Rescue. You will earn 10% of the money brought in to help the animals for each event! GROOMER: A skilled groomer, with their own grooming equipment, who can groom/bathe/clip nails on small dogs/puppies. We will supply the shampoo/towels etc. We will bring them to your location in the East Valley.
