About Indy

Indy is about three-years-old and is loyal, intelligent, attentive and treat-motivated. He goes for daily walks and runs in San Francisco and loves to go exploring with his owners. Indy prefers to stay inside with minimal stimulations while his owners are at work. He is very well house-trained, doesn't chew on items he shouldn't chew on and sleeps most of the day provided that he has a soft bed to lie on. He will also hang out in his crate with the door open/closed during the day. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. Indy is good on a leash, responsive to recall and knows basic commands including 'Go to bed'. Unfortunately, his owners are away from their small apartment for 8-10 hours per day and hope they can find a new, more stimulating home for Indy that has room for him to be active. Daniel adopted Indy from a shelter in Twin Falls, Idaho when Indy was about 6 months old (summer 2014). He was rescued running the streets of Twin Falls and most likely had poor initial socialization before he was found. He is fearful of strangers and can be aggressively protective at times. Indy is a herding breed or guardian breed mix and would do best in a home that has experience with these types of breeds and that understands the exercise, training, and socialization that these dogs require. He is extremely interested in cats/rabbits/squirrels and would do best in a one animal house. A quieter home with one or two people would be ideal for Indy, as he can be nervous around new people at first but once he warms up to you he will love you forever. Indy is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and has had a recent physical exam. Indy's owner will drive to meet you where you are if you're interested in adopting. Indy is looking for his own safe haven to call his forever home. He also lives for cuddles on the couch! He is a fantastic companion.
