Jackson is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Jackson is currently fostered in Riverview, FL (Hillsborough County). Hi, my name is Jackson! Foster momma asked me to talk about myself so that I can find my forever, so here is what I have to say as typed by her. I am a year old and 80 lbs, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, neutered, microchipped and heartworm-free! I have been told that I am a Great Pyrenees mix. The vet said I even have some Australian shepherd in me! I am not sure what that means, but to me it means that my job is to be outside protecting my territory. According to foster momma, if I didn't have the pesky herding dog instincts fighting with the guardian instincts, I would be out with lots of grass eaters making sure that they stay safe from predators. Since I do have a lot of desire to make the grass eaters move, she won't let me stay in their pasture with them. On the other paw, she says that that instinct is also why I have never tried to escape my pasture, so I guess it isn't all bad. I came into rescue with a goat who was my friend who has since been adopted. I am still looking for my forever home. I am pretty bouncy when I want attention, but my foster parents are working on it. I won't let strangers come out where I am, because they could be ninjas in disguise, unless one of my foster parents comes out with them and tells me that they are allowed. I do not want any furry things getting into my food, so I let them know that they are not allowed. I am not an inside dog as I refuse to go in the house. I would make an awesome farm dog but I am admittedly not the best livestock guardian. I just want to be your friend.
