About Sonny

PLEASE BE AWARE WE HAVE A 100 MILE ADOPTION RADIUS FROM OUR FACILITY IN NEW RICHMOND, WI. Sonny came to us from the euthanasia list of a Twin Cities shelter. Sonny was an owner surrender and had been surrendered with his doggie sister - we did not have the opportunity to take the sister as she went to another rescue. We do not have full details on Sonny's prior history and only have what was current history from the shelter. Sonny was on the euth list as he was shutting down in the shelter, afraid and nervous. We have found that Sonny is a nervous dog, especially in new surroundings so we are not surprised by the AHS's assessment - we do not feel, however, that this nervousness is cause for euthanasia. Sonny is 'in training' to combat this nervousness and we are recommending that he go to an experienced adopter who can continue his training; someone who will be patient with him and will allow him slow introductions to new things/surroundings. This boy is really very sweet and friendly and he deserves a chance to really shine - if you think you can provide the love, training and security that Sonny needs, please contact us as we would love to discuss him further with you. Sonny is a one year old (as of 5/2017) Whippet/Hound/Lab mix and is all up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is micro-chipped and neutered. He has been socializing with some of our current rescue dogs and does well with them and as stated above, he did come from a multi-dog home. Cat exposure we're unsure of at this time.
