Posted 4/14/17, and pictures taken 3/31/17. Cameron was one of five dogs at the Smith County, TX Shelter on 3/28/17 that needed to leave that day. Another rescue was going to take him, but could not take another heartworm positive dog, so I tagged him, since one of my senior dogs passed away. He has joined my yard dogs, and follows me everywhere. He does not like being in a crate or riding in a vehicle, but I'm working with him on those and he is getting much better with both. He looks like a teddy bear in the face. He has a slight dominant personality, but is very trainable, since he is eager to please his person. He has barked at our cats, so I would not recommend him with cats, and he is good with children and adults. He was put on Doxycycline and Prednisone for a month, which he started on 4/10/17. He can stay on prevention now or have heartworm treatment. Ivomec can be used twice a month for about 6 months to kill the heartworms, and I have a page of instructions on how to use the Ivomec. Cameron was picked up on Hwy 135 on 1/21/17 weighing 34 pounds, and estimated to be 2 years old. He now weighs 53.6 pounds. $80 adoption fee. Anyone interested in adopting him, please e-mail me at [email protected].
