About Snap

Snap is a 2 yo beagle who is the 2016 recipient of the KC Mainardi Memorial Fund (http://www.beaglerescueleague.org/help/kc). He is an adorable, friendly and social little beagle who needed to find a new home due to his owner's new living arrangements (moved in with relatives who lease did not allow pets). It was discovered that Snap also has significant separation anxiety, so we are looking for a home for him where someone is home a good portion of the day to help him, and/or someone experienced having a dog with separation anxiety. His previous owner took him to doggy day care daily so that Snap was not home alone. We tried the usual natural approaches to help ease separation anxiety with no success, so Snap was started on anti-anxiety medication and is doing well on it. That being said, his separation anxiety will worsen markedly when he is placed in a new home, so adopters would need to understand that, work with him possible with a trainer, and continue his medication for several months at least post-adoption. Snap is a typical high energy young beagle, so a fenced in yard is a necessity, and we think he really does need other dogs in the home. He loves other dogs, and they can help keep him company.
