About Sheena

Sheena is a 15-year-old, very frail and thin, female black and white shepherd-mix looking for a loving guardian as a hospice situation. This senior lady was dropped off at Chicago Animal Control with a younger Dachshund sibling. They were separated when a rescue took the Dachshund but not the senior shepherd. Luckily Sheena was taken in by the Famous Fido Rescue. She has proven to be just fine with other dogs as well as cats. Poor Sheena has had two bouts of pancreatitis since she's arrived in rescue. Rescue staff and volunteers have nursed her back from each illness and now she eats mostly boiled chicken and rice, although she also loves cheese. Her arthritis slows her down. She is visually impaired and easily startled so she may bite if surprised or frightened, so she's best in a home with tolerant dog-lovers without children.
