Biscuit is a chihuahua mix who is about 4-5 yrs old and weighs about 9 lbs. He is a special boy who takes time to warm up to new people and is fearful in new situations, but once you gain his trust he will be your sidekick and shadow for life. He loves to give kisses and likes to cuddle on the couch - the bed is even better! We would like to place him in a home with a fenced in yard, but we are open to considering other living circumstances. Our vet believes that Biscuit was born with some brain damage, which causes his gait and coordination to be a little off. He has difficulty doing stairs, but he can navigate a couple and he has had some success going up 6-7 stairs (not down, though). He also cannot jump on or off furniture. He doesn't like being away from his person and has been known to bark or cry when separated, but we have had success at crate training while his foster mom is at work. He will need a patient adopter who will spend the time to build his confidence, work on life skills, and expose him to new things in a positive manner. We are looking for a quiet, all-adult home for little Biscuit. His adoption donation of $200 helps cover the cost of his vetting and care. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at [email protected]. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped.
