About Jefke

We have exciting news! As you may recall, Jefke has been with the rescue for quite a while. He's a middle-aged Belgian Malinois and is one of the smartest dogs we've ever met. As much as we get him out of his kennel and play with him and walk him and cuddle him, he's going stir-crazy. He needs an outlet. He needs a job - and he needs a person of his own to love. Well, several private donations have been received and Jefke will be going to training with Andrew at Destination Dog Training. Andrew came by the other day to evaluate Jefke. Jefke is a laid-back fellow who just needs a few quirks worked out. He can become overly-protective of his home and his person. He is also one of those dogs who will figure out your weaknesses and use them to his advantage! Because he is an intelligent, driven Belgian Malinois, Jefke would do best as an only dog as he loves his toys and affection and doesn't always want to share either. He responds best to confident, strong handlers; especially men. Jefke will be going to a 3-week board and training course, where he will learn how to be the perfect gentleman. The training will focus not only on Jefke, but also on his person's handling skills and transition into his new home. All of the training will be provided at NO COST to the adopter.
