About Dougie

Dougie is a very special dog with specific needs. He is cute as can be and has an amazing personality but needs a very understanding and patient forever home. Dougie was one of many dogs seized from a dog hoarding situation. He had never been properly socialized and was severely neglected. You wouldn't know it from his beautiful coat he has now but he came to his foster home, from Animal Control in September,�%A0�%A0almost completely bald from mange. He also suffered from parasites and a pretty bad hernia. Dougie has proximity sensitivity towards humans and will growl and snap from time to time, but is in love with and protects his doggie foster brother. They sleep together, eat together and share toys! Dougie loves to play with plush squeaky toys, something that he is just starting to do recently. He is a crack up and is able to be pet for short periods of time, even sitting on his foster moms feet in her office at home. He is able to be leashed and walks are his all time favorite thing. He is currently in training and doing great! We hope with the right home and love and care and patience Dougie can finally have the peace he deserves.
