About Simon

Simon is a very sweet, submissive, fearful dog that we rescued from an animal hoarder named Jack who had good intentions but kept him, along with other dogs, including Simon's mama and papa, in tiny, outside kennels in the sand with no human interaction, other than him, and no socialization. So this environment caused Simon to become depressed and shut down. He had a skin infection from a flea allergy and we knew once he was out of there he would start coming out of his shell. Simon and his mama and papa, Mickey and Marty, also listed on rescue me, are currently at a licensed rescue in North Augusta, SC but he really needs to be in a loving foster or forever home. Simon needs an individual or family that has the patience, compassion and understanding to help break down his barriers and be the dog he's meant to be. He's come a long way and it's so heartwarming to see how happy he is to see me and my rescue partner Michelle when we visit him. He wags his tail and sniffs us, let's us love on him. He loves affection. Although he's fearful and anxious, he's also very friendly and loving, loves treats and lets us cuddle and hug him...he just needs to learn to trust completely but his issues are very understandable, considering where he came from.
