Dottie (about 3 years old as of August, 2017) is a spayed female calico point short-haired Siamese mix cat. Dottie was rescued as part of our Beach Park trailer park trapping and was one of 16 or more cats one resident had tried to take in to her small trailer. This 'rescue' plan was especially doomed to fail as Dottie came to us with two newborn kittens. Because of the cramped and unstable conditions we don't know that she ever got to live as a normal pet cat and that is probably why she is a little shy at first. We're still getting to know Dottie as her kittens wean and her motherly hormones settle down. She seems calm and confident even as she squirms to run and hide while we're carrying her around at Petco, and at home she is happy to be out loose from cage but never leaves sight of her 2 kittens and the younger litter of 5 she helped raise. Obviously she has lived with other cats just fine, she loves kittens, and gets along fine with the cat-friendly small dog in her foster home. We think she'd do well with older children who could be quiet and gentle around her but she'd probably be too easily startled by hyper toddlers or preschoolers.
