About Emmy

Adoption Fee: $100
German Shepherd / Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Emmy is an approximately 2.5 year old Husky and German Shepherd mix. She was rescued from the shelter just before she was to be euthanized for being a bite risk due to extreme fear. Her temperament at that time did support that evaluation, and it took a substantial investment of time and patience to allow her to trust people again. As this is the case, an adopter for Emmy MUST be capable of having the patience to allow her to develop trust for them. This means a secure home and yard environment, no attempts to leash her, and allowing her to initiate any and all physical contact. Emmy can not go to a home with children under 12 years of age, and an adult home would probably be best to avoid any incident precipitated by a child unfamiliar with Emmy's needs making an error in early handling of her. Emmy is very friendly and comfortable with other dogs of small or large size and of either gender. If you can commit to the investment of a few months' time to earn her trust, Emmy will repay you with a lifetime of loyal companionship. We have seen this with our own eyes as we gained Emmy's trust, and we know she is capable of this same bond with you. Emmy would be an excellent companion for an active person or couple as she loves hiking and other outdoor activities. Emmy is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked.
