About Mandy

Mandy's owner passed away in Mississippi and ended up at the shelter. �%A0Luckily, she was rescued by GDR and treated for bladder stones and infection. �%A0She was vetted and given a clean bill of health. �%A0Mandy will be turning twelve this year!�%A0 We will celebrate her birthday on August 1st with the millions of other unknown rescue dog birthdays. She weighs approximately 18 pounds, and is a standard size, waiting for her forever home in her foster home in Alabama.�%A0 Mandy has great energy for her age.�%A0 She loves having toys and playing ball from time to time. �%A0She is not fond of giving her toys back though, so don't ask! �%A0Mandy's favorite activity is lounging on the recliner with a human. She won't get up on the recliner if you don't sit down, so take a load off and relax. Mandy is crate trained. A clever girl, she knows the word 'bed' and gladly will go to her crate. She will sleep 8-10 hours at night. During the daytime, she goes through not one, but two doggie doors to go potty. She has never had an accident in her foster home in Alabama. She is currently cohabiting with 3 other dachshunds. �%A0Mandy would prefer a male dog housemate.�%A0 Mandy is a great watch dog, ask UPS and Fedex! �%A0Who says old girls can't catch squirrels?�%A0 Due to her diet of special dog food, Mandy is fed separately.�%A0 During the day she likes to follow her foster mom from room to room until she wears herself out and heads for a nap. Mandy has a grade 3 heart murmur. Mandy would prefer to be homed with older children that would be gentle and not steal her toys.
