About Diesel

Adoption Fee: $450
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi I'm Diesel. I am a 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier male. I am up to date on my vaccinations, neutered and on preventatives. I am microchipped, I have been dewormmed, and I am heart worm negative. I am a sweet boy who loves to play especially with balls. I get along with people, kids and animals but not too crazy about Squirrels. I am very energetic and need a home where I can have lots of room and play time everyday. I am a smart boy, I have my basic obedience such as sit and stay. I am house trained and I love getting groomed, getting a bath and swimming. I love to take walks, snuggle, co-sleep and riding in the car. I love to play fetch and will play it all day if you let me. I can walk on a leash but sometimes pull (Just need a little practice ). I do have a sensitivity to grains and need to be fed a grain free diet. I am a loving dog just looking for my forever home.I am fearful of small children and would do best in a home with adults only or adults with older children. I was a registered service dog with my main skill set in PTSD/Anxiety. Do you think you can be my forever family? Contact For The Love of Dogs Rescue at [email protected] or call 704-402-0622 for an application to adopt me. As my bio says, I am a registered Service Dog. Something awful happened to my previous owner and I was in the wind for about two months. NOBODY knows what happened to me in that time but when I was found I had some pretty bad scars on my face, neck and ears. It appears that I had been in a few scraps with other dogs maybe? I am not an aggressive dog at all, I have always been a very gentle dog and open and friendly to everyone. Since returning I am a little fearful and very watchful. I am retired from service work now. I will always have the skill sets and it is my natural tendency to be a velcro doggie with my human. The rescue feels that it is better to be safe than sorry and let me live out the rest of my life as a family companion dog. If you feel that you have room in your heart and home for me, please do not hesitate to email [email protected] for an adoption application. There is an adoption process. 1. You request an adoption application (email [email protected] to request an application). 2. Your references and Vet reference will be checked, (your answers will be matched up with the particular dog - and others that are available). 3. IF all is well, a Home Visit will be scheduled. Sometimes a video or photos will be allowed. any issues will be identified and addressed. 4. IF all that has been done and it's all good then a Meet and Greet would be scheduled, IF that goes well then... You would be able to sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee (or make prior arrangements) and take me to my new forever home. It sounds like a lot - and maybe it is... but the Rescue only has my best interest at heart and they want to ensure that the family that takes me home is a good fit for my personality, temperament and that I have the best possible chances for a successful forever placement. So please don't be hesitant to put a little effort into bringing me, or one of my other rescue pals into your home. Thank You for considering Rescue over breeders. Normally my adoption fee would be the flat rate of $675 as a working dog but the rescue just wants to make sure that I go into the right kind of home and that I will never have to worry about something happening to me again. My adoption fee has been reduced to $450 as a Very Trained Personal Companion Dog.
