About Suzie

Adoption Fee: $100
Pit Bull / Mountain Cur
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

All Suzie wants is a real home who will love and care for her forever! Suzie was in a high kill shelter and out of time. She had been picked up as a stray and was not claimed. Beautiful 55 pound, happy, girl about 5 years old now, she has been here for 4 years waiting for a home! :( She is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She has been waiting a long time to be a part of a family, since she looks like so many other dogs and has a unique personality. She is crate trained and very quiet. She had major anxiety about being crated when we first rescued her and will need an understanding home to be adopted since change is hard on her. But she is excellent in a crate just will need time to realize she has someone new who loves her. She is such an easy dog, we use to leave her loose on the farm several times a day. My aged mother and aunt have moved in with us with untrained bossy little dogs who that let out randomly so Suzie lost all farm freedom and is leaving in a large kennel. The we first got her she had no idea how to play with a dog. She can be bossy with some dogs, prefers male dogs since it was a male puppy who taught her how to play with other dogs. She finally understood he wasn't trying to eat her. Poor girl laid on the ground curled up in a ball for 2 weeks with a 4 month old pup laying, pouncing and chewing on her trying very hard to get her to play with him before she tried to move. They then had the very best time rough housing and racing all over the place! He has been adopted and she now loves a tiny 11 pound male terrier we have. She is very happy to see my grandchildren but sometimes isn't sure about strangers until she knows them. She really doesn't know any commands, other then 'crate' 'sit' and comes when called great off lead but would love someone who would like to teach her some fun tricks. She will follow along if you horse back ride and is really great about staying with the person she loves. The Vet clinic's phone number you use currently, or in the past is required to adopt for a reference. We have 8 rescued dogs all praying for a real home! Please do not consider a dog for unless you want a dog as a family member for its whole life.
