About Marl

Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Marl !! This sweet pup and his siblings were born here in the rescue to a dog that we took in from a shelter. He is currently 9 weeks old. His mom appears to be a rat terrier mix. Mom is only 20 pounds full grown. We have no idea what dad was. We suspect he will be small to medium full grown. He will get vaccines, dewormed, neutered, and a microchip as part of his adoption. MARL - Black and White - 5.5 Pounds- Male- Marl is a big goofball and very vocal; he makes sure to let you know exactly how he feels. Besides eating, his favorite activity is sleeping. Among all the puppies, he is the most cautious, always looking around to check out his surroundings. He is very sweet and loves to play with toys. Does have a minor eye deformity he was born with that the vet said should not cause him any issues. (His one eye lid opening is smaller than the other) *** Puppies are very young and their full personalities have not developed. They may change as they grow and become independent from each other *** Marl loves other dogs and loves people. He is fine with children. He has no experience with cats, but is still young enough to learn and be trained around them. He has not started crate training as he is still with their mom. There will likely be some sleepless nights as he first adjusts to being apart from siblings in the new home and with crate training. Being so young he does not have much training yet. He will need his owners to help with learning leash walking, potty training, socialization and basic manners. Please do not adopt a puppy unless you're willing to put that work in. Marl has not had any trouble sharing food treats and toys with humans or other dogs. He is a happy curious and fun pup. He loves to explore and play but is also sweet and cuddly. Really fun to have around with all his puppy antics and loving nature. So far he has a medium to high energy level. He will need lots of playtime and both mental and physical exercise every single day. Puppies not given proper exercise can display destructive behaviors and have difficulty with training and manners. How they turn out is largely up to how much effort and time your family puts into them now. They all have the potential to be wonderfully trained and well behaved dogs. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family's lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. We do NOT adopt siblings into the same family. Before commenting on how sad etc, you feel that is please google 'littermate syndrome' so you can understand why we take this precaution. It is done in the best interest of the puppies. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) '%BC%8FPlease message [email protected] to see more pics and for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application '%BC%8F
