Izzy is a 4-year-old Pomeranian with a white and chocolate parti coat, weighing about 10 pounds. She is still very shy but slowly gaining confidence in her foster home. Her favorite hiding spots are under the bed or tucked into the pillows, where she feels safe and secure. Izzy has started showing glimpses of trust. She gives gentle kisses and enjoys quiet cuddles with her foster, though she still jumps at sudden noises and looks for a place to hide. She will let her foster's husband pet her, but she is not yet ready to seek him out. Just recently she began crawling up on her own when spoken to softly, a big step forward for her. She is indifferent to most of the dogs in her foster home and only gave a small growl when one was too pushy. Izzy has not had accidents indoors and goes potty outside when carried out, though she is still hesitant to roam freely. She is learning about harnesses and walks but is unsure of new experiences and will freeze or stick close to her person. Treats and affection are both new concepts for her, and she is slowly learning how to enjoy them. Izzy is fully vetted including an examination, spay, dental, core vaccinations, negative heartworm test, dewormed, and microchipped. She has luxating patellas (grade 2), but they are not causing her pain or lameness. They simply need to be monitored over time. She is a tender little soul who will need a patient adopter willing to give her time and reassurance as she learns how to live outside a kennel. Izzy is located with a foster in Houston, TX. The adoption fee is $750. Apply here: www.tpsrescue.com
