EMERGENCY! ABUSE CASE!!! [Case opened on 9/16/25]. URGENT!!! ABUSE CASE! MI. (willing to drive up to MI, OHIO, KY, IN). 8 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: 8/?/17)). His name is 'MAXX '. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Maxx since he was a 6 months old. 2 years ago, she had to move to Ohio and her parents in Michigan decided to keep Maxx with them. Since then, extreme neglect has taken place as described below. Maxx needs rescued IMMEDIATELY. NOT UTD on shots WITHOUT record. Fixed. Good with kids. Good with dogs. Good with cats. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: NEGLECT, NEEDS VET CARE FOR HIS EARS. ENERGY LEVEL: HIGH. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: HIGH. Weighs 80 lbs. Currently on MEIJER BRAND food. Good with car rides?: USED TO BE, UNKNOWN NOW. Likes to have the windows cracked. Socialized with other dogs and/or people?: NOT OFTEN ANYMORE. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!):USED TO BE, NOW SECLUDED . Loves: playing in water - playing fetch - balls - affection - food - cuddling - mosying around and sniffing - chilling on the couch - playing with other dogs that he knows - chuck it sticks - pleasing his person - being near his person . *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?:YES . *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): NO. *Good on a Leash?: NO. *Lovable?:VERY . *Eager and fast learner?:YES . All the things that Maxx loves has not happened for 2 years. The Current Shepherd Parent had to move to Ohio and was not able to take Maxx with her. Her parents kept Maxx and still have him. Instead of showing him love and kindness, they keep him locked up in his crate 24/7, no love, no toys, no interaction. His ears are so painful (most likely from mites and or ear infections) that he cries and nips if someone tries to touch them. He is greasy from extreme neglect. They let him out for 2 minutes at 4:00 a.m. and 2 minutes at 6:00 p.m. for a potty break and water. He has no water access outside of those two times. No exercise. They have never taken him to the vet. Because of this severe neglect, we cannot be completely sure how he is going to react thru this process. He used to be good with kids, dogs and cats. But abuse can really play a toll on a soul. This will all be up in the air until Maxx is safe and treated with love and kindness. He should be living his best life with peace and comfort at 8 years old and not with neglect and isolation and sadness. Maxx needs an amazing person to show him love and kindness and comfort. Someone with a set routine so he can be calm and thrive. He needs someone willing to take a chance on him so that he can show you how amazing of a boy he truly is and can be. *Most pics are from 2 years ago before the Current Shepherd Parent moved out of the home* Re Homing because�'�|: severe neglect. This is a rescue mission. The people are currently cooperating and agreeing to re home him, so we need to move quickly on this. Max was such a happy, free spirited and loving guy just 2 years ago. The extreme neglect has caused him to be extremely over stimulated when he finally is let out of his crate, which in turn makes them just put him right back in his crate. This abuse needs to stop immediately. We have got to get this poor guy out of there. Will thrive best�'�|?: preferably someone who is home all the time to devote to Maxx and work with him through his Abuse Trauma, but we are in no position to be picky, we need an amazing person to step up quick.
