About Max

Available to adopt! Meet Max, our darling 1.5-year-old yorkiepoo, 19 Lb. Max takes a little bit to warm up as he is very anxious, but after a few days, he is an absolute doll. He became attached to his maltipoo foster brother very quickly, was reliant on him for the first few days. He would really benefit from going to a home with another dog as this not only made him feel more comfortable but also seemed to help him trust me more as he watched my maltipoo interact with me. ��%BD'��%BD|Max's background prior to coming to Love Mutts Rescue is not entirely clear, but he will need a bit of training. He holds his potty in the kennel while I am at work but has had several accidents while I am home, so I think consistent structured potty times will be key for him as he learns. He has chewed up a few pairs of shoes, & other things on the floor, so he will need training for that as well. He has a big appetite & will eat any food on the ground (including my maltipoo's who free feeds), so you will need to monitor any other pets' food if it is on the ground. He did come to Love Mutts underweight so I think he is just used to being hungry. He also becomes anxious when he is in his kennel & unable to be w/my maltipoo. He has gotten out of the kennel so will benefit from someone with the time to invest in him. I do think he would be a good candidate for someone who is home most of the day as he will not be able to free roam due to these behaviors. I had wanted to adopt Max but I work 6 days a week & often only home for 3-4 hours per day, so I have little free time to train him. Max loves belly rubs, chasing my maltipoo, & giving kisses. He is very food motivated & has already been learning the words 'potty' & 'poopoo' for treats with the short time I have had him. I have no doubt with a bit of extra training he will be an incredible addition to someone's family. www.lovemuttsrescue.org
