About Zelda

Adoption Fee: $50
Catahoula
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Zelda is a 9 year old Catahoula Leopard dog. She is loving, relaxed and most of all cuddly. She responds incredibly well to tasty treats and would be a perfect addition to any family with other relaxed dogs and older children. Zelda has a very calm demeanor but can get excited when she spots some squirrels! She loves lounging around the house and will enjoy a day out in the sun. Zelda can nap with her owners as easily as she can go on outdoor adventures! She enjoys leisurely walks around the neighborhood and will have a blast at a dog park to get some running in. Zelda doesn't much care for toys or fetch, but loves her walks and dog park entertainment. At 9 years old she would prefer older children who can be firm with instructions to keep her focused and aware. Zelda would prefer to be in a home without cats as they can get her excited and barky. She is both house trained and crate trained so it would be highly unlikely to have indoor accidents! Zelda is loyal and alert! if you have unannounced visitors she will be the first to let you know! Zelda does not have separation anxiety so if she needs to be crated for hours at a time she will get some naps in! She also does well on her leashed walks but doesn't expect them everyday. Dog park visits are a perfect mix of unleashed and leashed control and socializing for Zelda. She is spayed and microchipped and is also a healthy dog for her age and requires no extra medical care or attention and also does not need a special dietary supplement or dog food. It is with very heavy hearts that we've made the decision to rehome our sweet dog. She has been a beloved part of our family, but recently she has shown aggression toward our toddler. While we know this doesn't make her a 'bad dog,' we must prioritize our child's safety. She deserves a loving home where she can thrive without the stress of little ones around. We are looking for an experienced and caring adopter who can give her the attention and environment she needs.
