During that time, they proved just how adaptable they can be: they lived peacefully with two dogs (one big and one small) and did well with two respectful 11-year-old kids. They arrived at the shelter on 8-27. It's a big, new, scary place for such small dogs, so they find comfort in sticking close together, often curled up side-by-side. While still a bit shy, they have potential to trust, tolerating leashing and light petting, and showing us that with time and patience their confidence will grow. Jimmy (4 yrs): a little braver, already accepted a treat. Valerie (2 yrs): more reserved, not into treats just yet, leans on her brother for confidence. What they need most now is a calm, loving foster home where they can feel safe and continue to blossom.
